Chakras

chakra set

The model I like is almost identical to the chakras found in Hinduism and Buddhism. Each of the centers has a different purpose. The combination of centers, including the energy and information that is present in each, makes up a complete soul. The model goes a long way toward explaining how we function in the world.

The most commonly described sets of chakras have seven, nine, ten, or thirteen centers. In systems with more than seven chakras, there are clusters of chakras near the throat, two chakras at the heart, and two separate chakras above the head. (One is just above the head and the top one is higher.) The diagram on the right shows their location in the body. Here is a list of the chakras with the names I prefer.
